Part 2: Set Up Okta Verify

If you have completed Part 1 of the onboarding guide to set up your android phone, now you must set up Okta Verify. 

Important: This guide is for users setting up Okta Verify for the first time and who have not yet set up MFA (multi-factor authentication). If you have previously set up Okta Verify on another device or this device on another occasion, contact TechOps at #techops-help or techops-help@octopusenergy.group for a reset.

What is Okta Verify?

Okta is your digital ID whilst working at Octopus. Just like when you see a "Sign in with Facebook/Google" option for your personal accounts, you will see a "Sign in with Okta" option for Octopus Energy applications. In order to set up Okta, first you’ll need to set up Okta Verify. 

Set up

  1. Find the app by swiping up the home screen, which will take you to the app drawer. 

  2. Tap on Okta Verify to begin the setup process

  3. Once you’ve opened Okta Verify, follow the prompts until you are notified to “choose account type”

  4. Select “organisation”

  5. Click “skip”, and “no, sign in instead”

    ⚠️ Note: If you've already set up Okta Verify on your personal device (which you shouldn't have done as per your onboarding email), you'll need to use the "Add account from another device" option.

  6. When prompted to enter your organisation’s sign-in URL, type in octoenergy.okta.comThis field should be pre-filled for you.
